Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for Assistant Professorship (AP), Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD under UGC NET June 2025 are based on educational qualifications and age limits.
Assistant Professorship (AP):
- Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in any subject from a UGC-recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% for SC ST, PwD or OBC-NCL).
- Age Limit: Not applicable.
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):
- Educational: Same as AP.
- Age Limit: 30 years as of June 1, 2025, with upper age relaxation:

- OBC-NCL: +3 years (up to 33 years)
- SC/ST/PwD/Women: +5 years (up to 35 years)
- L.L.M. degree holders: +3 years additional relaxation
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):
- Educational Qualification: Same as AP/JRF, or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a UGC-recognized university with at least 75% marks.
- Age Limit: Not applicable.
Candidates who are in the final year/semester of the qualifying exam are eligible to apply for the UGC NET June 2025 for AP, JRF and PhD.

Exam Schedule
The exam schedule for the UGC NET June 2025 is announced by the National Testing Agency. The exam will be administered between 21 to 30 June 2025. The examination will be administered in two shifts from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm and 03:00 pm to 06:00 pm, with an exam time duration of 03 hours.
Exam Pattern
The NTA will hold the UGC NET June 2025 in online mode utilizing the Computer-Based Test mode, a total number of 50 MCQs and 100 MCQs is going to be asked in Paper 1 and Paper 2, respectively. Each question will be of 2 marks and no mark will be deducted for incorrect response or unattempted questions.
